Adilabad: Ramagundam police commissionerate has launched a drone patrol unit within its Neelvai police limits in Mancherial zone on Sunday as part of anti-extremist operations in view of the elections.

Mancherial DCP Sudheer Keken and Ramagundam police commissioner Rema Rajeshwari formally launched the drone patrol unit to keep an eye on Maoists travelling along the rivers Pranahitha and Godavari bordering Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeshwari said they have intensified security as per Election Commission’s guidelines.

Jaipur ACP Mohan and Chennur Rural circle inspector Vidya Sagar were among those present.
