Students want B. Sc. admissions as per INC guidelines
KNRUHS Admission Confusion: Shifting Rules Raise Concerns for B.Sc. Nursing Students
Warangal: Students who have applied for admission into B. Sc. Nursing course have requested Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) to conduct admissions for both convener and management category seats as per guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council.
In a statement, students alleged that KNRUHS is following different rules for admission of students under the convenor and management quotas.
They pointed out that the university had initially issued a notification on November 11 to admit students into B. Sc. Nursing course as per the rules and regulations of INC. It later issued another notification on November 22, stating that students who have qualified for TS-EAMCET with 0 per cent percentile relaxation are eligible for only convenor quota seats and not management quota seats.
Further, they said for the past 10 years, the university has been following uniform rules and regulations for admitting students under convener and management quotas on the basis of their intermediate marks.
But the university has introduced EAMCET qualification for convener quota seats and NEET for management quota seats from this academic year, due to which more than 2,000 students will lose their academic year.
The students requested authorities of the university to intervene immediately and revise the rules of admission for B. Sc. Nursing course, so that students can save their academic year.
