Thunderstorms in north Telangana likely, Hyderabad anticipates isolated rains
IMD Hyderabad Issues Warning of Thunderstorms and Rain in Telangana Districts
Hyderabad: A potent Western Disturbance (WD) is set to make its presence felt in the northern regions of Telangana, with Adilabad, Nirmal, and Nizamabad experiencing powerful storms.
The impact is expected to extend further, covering Jagitial and Asifabad, and progressing into Mancherial and Peddapalli within the next few hours.
The Indian Meteorological Department - Hyderabad has issued warnings for light thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in several districts, with maximum surface wind speed less than 40 kmph, in gusts, at isolated places over Adilabad, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Kumaram bheem, Mancherial, Nirmal and Nizamabad. Kamareddy, Sangareddy, and Medak too could receive light rains.
As the WD continues its trajectory, Hyderabad braces for isolated rains for the next three days. The city is likely to experience varying intensities of rainfall.
While the storms have already begun in some of the mentioned districts, the capital city can expect sporadic showers, offering respite from a rather dry winter after a couple of rains last week.
The impact of the WD is anticipated to linger over the state until November 29, with the weather system gradually moving towards Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh after affecting Rajasthan and Gujarat, weather experts said.
