Hyderabad: The name of Delhi cleric Mufti Syed Abdus Qasmi has appeared twice in the NIA cases pertaining to Hyderabad modules where he had allegedly instigated and motivated local youth to join ISIS.
While Qasmi was named as accused in Chargesheet filed in a case of pipe bomb conspiracy as A-17 by NIA, his name also cropped up in the ISIS South India group module inspired by his speeches
NIA in the chargesheet alleged, “The analysis of the laptop and other digital articles seized from the house of A1 Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi alias Fahad revealed online Bayans (lectures) of Abdus Sami Qasmi audios which encourage Indians to join the lSlS, justifying the Caliphate and the present situation in lraq”.
The allegiance to ISIS suspects of Hyderabad to Abu Bakr Al Bhagdadi by suspects is similar to Orlando shooter alleged NIA in the chargesheet.
In pipe bomb conspiracy case involving Nafees Khan and Abu Anus from Hyderabad Qasmi actually came to Hyderabad and preached here. Another controversial cleric Zakir Nayak has also been named in the latest case.
