Tirupati SP says action taken for intimidation

Hyderabad: Tirupati Urban area SP on Tuesday informed the Hyderabad High Court that they have arrested the persons who had threatened Bhardwaj Chakravarthi of Parihaara Sewa Samiti for filing the PIL seeking action against the hoteliers and stall owners for selling food and beverages at exorbitant prices at Tirumala.
The SP filed a report before a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice G Shyam Prasad stating that the police registered the case on the petitioner’s complaint.
The bench, while dealing with the PIL last week, had directed the SP to file the action taken report on the complaint of the petitioner for the alleged threatening.
Mr Chandra Mouli, counsel for the petitioner told the court that the TTD officials have been committing irregularities in finalising the tenders to allocate stalls at Tirumala.
The bench told counsel to file affidavit specifying the names of officers involving in irregularities so they can be made respondents to the petition.
Mr Sivaraju Srinivas, counsel for the TTD informed that the preparation of App will be completed by January 31, 2018, to receive the complaints from devotees visiting Tirumala about the difficulties facing during their pilgrimage.
