Hyderabad: JAC doesn’t get nod for rally tomorrow
We sought permission in writing, but the police has not replied yet: Mohammed Mushtaq Malik.
Hyderabad: Tehreek Muslim Shabban president Mohammed Mushtaq Malik has stated that the planned ‘million march’ at Necklace Road to protest the CAA on Decemer 28 will go ahead even if the police does not give permission. Mr Malik is convener of the joint action committee against the NRC.
“We sought permission in writing, but the police has not replied yet. Our Million March will not be cancelled even the police refuse grant permission,” he said. Saturday will be observed as a day of protest. Mr Malik told the media: “Neither have we changed the venue nor have we withdraw our call.”
He said applications for permission had been submitted to the police commissioner and joint commissioner (law and order) a week ago but a post was being circulated in social media including the Facebook page of the city police in the name of deputy commissioner of police, Central Zone, Viswaprasad that no permission has been given and the public should not believe any fake news, rumours or propaganda in this regard. “If they have rejected permission, they should intimate us in writing,” Mr Malik said. He would approach the court against Mr Viswaprasad, he said. He claimed that a few political forces were trying to cancel the permission for the million march.
