Vijayawada: Union minister Y.S. Chowdary on Friday apologised for his comments on Thursday, comparing protests seeking Special Category Status to AP and cockfights and pig races. Speaking to the media in New Delhi on Friday, Mr Chowdary said: “If anyone was hurt with my words, I am sorry, and I had no bad intention.”

He also had a suggestion for Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan: “Try to distinguish between financial frauds and financial difficulties.” “I have been into business for the last 30 years. I have paid huge amounts to government in the form of taxes,” Mr Chowdary said, adding that he had never mixed politics with business.
