Telangana Governor extends aid to ex-servicemen

The governor approved enhancements and introduction of new schemes based on the recommendations of a special committee.

Hyderabad: Telangana governor E.S.L. Narasimhan agreed to enhance the financial assistance for ex-servicemen and their families from the Armed Forces Flag Day fund. The governor approved enhancements and introduction of new schemes based on the recommendations of a special committee.

a) Educational concessions to children (maximum two):
(i) Class I-X, ITI, diploma and degree (3 years): Rs 10,000 annually.
(ii) Post- graduation/ professional courses: Rs 15,000.
b) Hostel fee (maximum 2): Rs 10,000.
c) Marriage of girl child (2) and remarriage of widow: Rs 30,000.
d) Funeral grant (ex-servicemen, widow and child): Rs 10,000.
e) Penury grant for non-pensioner ex-servicemen: Rs 2,000 per month (above 60 years) and widow (above 55).
f) Grant for orphan children till 25 years of age or marriage or employment: Rs 2,000 per month.
