Agri Gold honchos fall ill, hospitalised
Rama Rao and Narayana Rao were shifted to NIMS in Hyderabad for better care.
Rajahmundry/Vijayawada: Scam-tainted Agri Gold chairman Avva Venkata Rama Rao suffered a mild heart attack while his brother and the firm’s MD Avva Venkata Seshu Narayana Rao developed breathing trouble after learning about it. Both of them were rushed to local government hospitals at Eluru and Vijayawada and later shifted to NIMS in Hyderabad for better treatment.
Rama Rao, who has been in judicial remand since February, 2016 at district jail at Eluru in West Godavari developed mild chest pain at about 10 am and collapsed. Jail authorities rushed him to the government hospital at Eluru where doctors found that the blood supply to his heart was blocked. He was stabilised with the help of some medicines.
Meanwhile, learning about Rama Rao’s ailment, his younger brother Narayana Rao developed ‘dyspnoea’ which means facing difficulty in breathing and started sweating profusely. Jail authorities shifted him to the government hospital Eluru for medical treatment. Later, both Rama Rao and Narayana Rao were shifted to NIMS in Hyderabad for better care.
