K Chandrasekhar Rao hikes mess charges
For students from Intermediate to degree courses, the mess charges were increased from Rs 1,050 to Rs 1,400 per month.

Hyderabad: Good news for the nearly 18 lakh students staying in government hostels to pursue education from school-level to university-level.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced a steep hike in their mess charges that were last revised in December 2012, in the Legislative Assembly.
The hike will impose a burden of Rs 117 crore on the state exchequer. For students from Class III to VII, mess charges have been increased from Rs 750 per month to Rs 950, for students from Class VIII to X, the hike was from Rs 850 to Rs 1,100 per month. For students from Intermediate to degree courses, the mess charges were increased from Rs 1,050 to Rs 1,400 per month.
