Karnataka high court stays proceedings against actor Kichcha Sudeep
The actor had approached the High Court seeking to quash the proceedings against him before the lower court.
Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court had stayed the lower court proceedings against actor and producer Kichcha Sudeepa with regard to a case wherein a coffee estate owner in Chikkamagaluru had approached the lower court alleging that Sudeepa and the director of a tele-serial had cheated him of Rs 1.5 crore, after damaging his ancestral property for the shooting of a TV serial.
The actor had approached the High Court seeking to quash the proceedings against him before the lower court. The High Court has also ordered issue of notice to station house officer of Mallundur police station and to Deepak Mayur Patel, the complainant before the lower court.
The complainant has alleged in his plea before a court that Sudeepa’s production house – Kichcha Creations owes him Rs 1.5 crore for destroying his plantation during the shooting of a Kannada TV serial Vaarasdara in 2016.
He added that the agreement with the production house was only to make use of the house for shooting purpose, but they ended up destroying the plantations and his ancestral property. Hence they owe him the damages caused during the shooting.
K.R. Market fire safety
The High Court has directed the BBMP to comply with the fire safety measures as per Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department, in the K.R. Market within two weeks and submit a compliance report of it to the court.
The court was hearing a PIL filed by the Bengaluru Flower Merchants Association challenging the construction of illegal shops in K.R. Market.
The BBMP Commissioner who was present before the court submitted that the Palike will comply with the observations of the fire and emergency department.
It also submitted that it will ensure the free movement of fire fighting vehicles around the market and it will be implemented within two weeks.
The fire department has issued a 19 point observation to be followed by the palike to ensure fire safety and prevent fire accidents in the K.R. Market.
