Raghavendra Singh Chauhan is acting Telangana Chief Justice

The Union ministry of law and justice on Wednesday issued the notification in this regard.

Hyderabad: Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan, the seniormost judge of the Telangana High Court, will be acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court after the present Chief Justice T.B.N. Radhakrishnan becomes CJ of the Calcutta HC.

The Union ministry of law and justice on Wednesday issued the notification in this regard.

Justice Chauhan was born on December 24, 1959. He graduated from Arcadia University, Glenside, PA (USA) in 1980 and obtained an LLB degree from DU in 1983.

He enrolled as an advocate with the Rajasthan Bar Council on November 13, 1983 and practised in the Rajasthan High Court from 1986 to June 2005, specialising in criminal, constitutional and service law.

He was elevated as Permanent Judge on June 13, 2005, and transferred to the Karnataka High Court in March 2015. Later he was transferred as Judge of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on November 23, 2018. He took oath as Judge of the Telangana High Court which came into existence after the bifurcation of the Hyderabad High Court.
