Hyderabad: Mounting pressure on the BJP-led government at the Centre, BRS MPs on Tuesday moved an adjournment motion in both the Houses of Parliament demanding the tabling and passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill.

The adjournment motions were moved by Nama Nageshwara Rao in the Lok Sabha and K. Keshava Rao in the Rajya Sabha demanding the passage of the Bill as well as an all-party meeting to discuss the issue.

After BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha went on a day-long hunger strike at Jantar Mantar on March 10 to advocate for the Bill's passage, the party has determined to increase pressure on the Centre.

Kavitha had organised a round-table conference with various political parties and civil society organisations in New Delhi on March 15 that witnessed participation of over 15 political parties, civil society organisations and student community.

Kavitha had announced plans to launch a ‘Missed Call Campaign’ to demand for the passage of the Bill. Along with the campaign, there will also be round table discussions in colleges and universities across India to discuss the need for tabling and passing of the Bill.
