Telangana HC permits Shobha Yatra in Bhainsa town
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday directed the police of Nirmal district to grant permission to conduct the Sri Rama Navami procession and rally in Tanur village and Bhainsa on March 30.
Justice Bollam Vijaysen Reddy issued the directions to the superintendent of police, Nirmal, while dealing with two individual lunch motion writ petitions filed by the Hindu Vahini and other individuals seeking permission for the event. They complained that the police had rejected their applications for permission to conduct the yatra.
Senior counsel Surya Karan Reddy, appearing on behalf of the petitioners, stated that they had not approached the court in their individual capacity but in the interest of the occasion.
The judge heard the contentions made by the home department that the area is communally sensitive and the conduct of such processions may interfere with the ongoing Ramzan season as there were mosques situated in the route chosen for the procession.
After hearing the contentions of the petitioners and the home department, the court allowed the petitioner organisation to conduct the yatra by following the court’s conditions.
The court said the petitioners should restrict political persons from participating in the event and hold it between 9 am and 1pm. No DJs or music should be played within a 150-metre radius of any mosque on the route, the court said. The judge directed that the petitioner will not make provocative or communally instigative statement or slogan throughout the rally.
