Muktyala to be developed

Historical fort set to be a tourist spot for Pushkaralu.

Vijayawada: Muktyala, a religious tourist destination located in Jaggayyapet mandal  of Krishna district on the banks of river Krishna would be developed  as a tourist spot by the state tourism department. The tourism officials have been planning to construct a hotel near the  Muktyala fort, which is historically famous. The officials also  proposed boating at Muktyala on Krishna river waters. Muktyala is known for tourist and historic places like Sri Bhavani  Mukteswara temple in Muktyala village, Koti Linga Harihara  Mahak-shetram at Kotilingalu near the village and Pancha Narasimha temple  at Vedadri. Already, the locals have been operating boating facity from  Muktyala to Vedadri on the river Krishna.  

An officer  stated that they  prepared a detailed plan for the tourism development activities at Muktyala, but the government is yet to release the required funds for  the purpose. Moreover, he observed that if the plans are implemented as  they estimated, then Muktyala would be turned into one of the  beautiful locations for the tourists in the state on the river banks. The River Krishna takes a turn towards north at Muktyala, that would  attract many tourists. A tourist village is located just 10 km away  from the mandal headquarters.

 At the same time, the government planned to develop the ghats at Muktyala for the coming Krishna river Pushkaralu. A park would also  be  eveloped near Muktyala.
