BS Yeddyurappa sympathiser beaten black and blue
Bhanuprakash said they had anticipated such incidents and asked the audience not to bother about it.
Bengaluru: A sympathizer of BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa was beaten up black and blue for taking objection to his leader being described as 'Ayogya' (useless) by the rebels.
While making the introductory speech at the 'Save Organisation' meeting here on Thursday, State BJP Vice-President and MLC Bhanuprakash referred to statements of some BJP leaders calling Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council K.S. Eshwarappa 'Ayogya'. He said this phrase does not apply to Mr Eshwarappa but to others, indirectly targeting Mr Yeddyurappa and BJP Other Backward Classes Forum chairman, B.J. Puttaswamy.
At this juncture, a man identified as Shivanna, came near the podium and took Mr Bhanuprakash to taks for using such a word against his leader. He said it was Mr Eshwarappa who was 'useless' and not Mr Yeddyurappa.
This enraged the BJP MLC who directed party workers to 'throw him out'. Within seconds, the Yeddyurappa loyalist was thrashed by a group of workers and handed over to the police.
Later, Mr Bhanuprakash said they had anticipated such incidents and asked the audience not to bother about it.
