Nizamabad simmers as mercury touches 44.7°Celsius
The warning issued by the IMD about the highest temperature recorded was circulated by citizens on social media.
Nizamabad: Composite Nizamabad district, a border district of Telangana, Maharashtra and Karnataka states has turned into a hot cauldron in the last couple of days.
The highest temperature of the season was recorded on Friday, 44.7°Celsius and on Saturday the temperature was 44.5° Celsius. This is the highest temperature recorded in the state this summer. The heat continues till 8 pm.
According to the meteorological department, on Saturday the minimum temperature of 31.7° Celsius was recorded in Nizamabad. People remained indoors to avoid being affected by heat related health problems. Business establishments, bus stations and the railway station also witnessed sparse crowds during the daytime.
V. Srinivas Reddy a private employee told this newspaper that he did not send his seven-year-old daughter to her summer camp because of the high temperatures. “My daughter was enrolled in a summer camp for classical dance, but it is difficult to drop her in this extreme heat conditions,” he said.
However, a section of people continued to work unaware about the highest temperature recorded Nizamabad. Footpath vendors, auto drivers, daily wage workers continued their work, taking some precautions.
