Kollam: SI sings a farewell song and dies

Kollam: The body of P. Vishnuprasad, 55, Sub- Inspector of Police, who collapsed and died while singing on the eve of his daughter's wedding on Saturday, was cremated in the compound of his house at Neendakara on Monday.
Vishnuprasad of Chambolil Veedu, Thazhathuruthil, Puthenthura, Neendakara, was Sub- Inspector at Karamana police station in Thiruvananthapuram district. The incident took place in his house while he was singing on a stage arranged for the reception of his younger daughter's marriage on Saturday night.
The song from the film 'Amaram' is literally sung by a father who bids farewell to his daughter. Vishnuprasad was immediately taken to a private hospital at Neendakara where he was declared brought dead.
The relatives did not revel the news of his death to daughter Archa so as not to upset her. She was told that he was under treatment and would return soon.
Archa's marriage took place at Parimanam temple at Neendakara on Sunday while her father's body waited in a morgue. Incidentally, the name of the bridegroom from Kadakkal is also Vishnuprasad.
P. Vishnuprasad leaves his wife Sushama and children, Arya, Archa and Anu (son). Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan condoled his death.
