Subhapradam begins in Tirupati

Tirupati: A week-long summer training camp, Subhapradam, was launched at seven educational institutions of TTD in Tirupati on Monday. The programme is aimed at instilling moral values preached in the Hindu Sanatana Dharma, said Dr Ramana Prasad, the secretary of Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) wing of the TTD.
Participating in the inaugural programme at SPW Degree and PG College, Dr Prasad said the unique programme commenced in 2012 and that nearly 2,500 students of classez VII, VIII and Ix from AP and Telangana took part this year. There are 100 tutors to take up the classes.
He asked the students to make use of the seven-day programme in learning the tenets in Hindu Dharma, moral values, festivals and their importance, etc.
The classes will be organised at SV Junior College, SV Arts College, SGS Arts College, SPW Junior College, SGS Arts College and SPW Polytechnic College.
The TTD will also pay the bus charges to students, provide study material, besides providing boarding and lodging facilities during the training period.

Besides providing breakfast, lunch, buttermilk in the afternoon, dinner in the night to the students, the pupils will also be engaged in Yoga and cultural activities like music, etc. Knowledge in Tirumala Divya kshetram, Srivari festivals and slokas in Srimad Bhagavad Gita would also be taught to the students.
