VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a cash war to make the poor rich by taking away ill-gotten wealth from the rich and distributing it to the poor.

Addressing party delegates on the first day of Telugu Desam party’s annual conclave Maha Nadu at Rajamahendravaram on Saturday, the TD chief advocated the four Ps model of development – Prajalu, Prabhutvam, Private and Partnership, unlike the three Ps public-private-partnership.

Claiming credit for the initiation of reforms in several key sectors by the centre, Naidu pointed out that his party suggested deregulation of telecom sector, resulting in the usage of mobile phones, laying of the first national highway from Chennai to Nellore under the Golden Quadrilateral programme by the BJP-led NDA government, setting up of the first power project in private sector by GVK Group at Jegurupadu, development of the first greenfield airport at Shamshabad, launch of first Emirates flight from Hyderabad to Dubai and so on.

The former chief minister claimed that based on his report on information technology to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, centre abolished the currency notes of ₹1,000 and ₹500 denominations. He said he also asked for the withdrawal of ₹2,000 notes to fight corruption and the same has been done.

Naidu wants the PM to also abolish the ₹500 denomination note, so that it could further help check black money. He alleged that murderers, looters and corrupt are escaping the law using money power.

The former CM threw a challenge to political parties, including ruling YSR Congress, whether they would ask for withdrawal of ₹500 notes from circulation. He alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is hiding all his ill-gotten money at his bunkers in Pulivendula, while a certain amount has been sent abroad.

The TD chief said once his party comes to power, he would use artificial intelligence and machine learning to zero in on all illegal financial transactions and get that money back into circulation for the benefit of poor.

He claimed that the ensuing polls will be a Kurukshetra wherein his party cadre will strive hard to defeat the Kauravas.
