Direct international flights from three Andhra Pradesh cities soon

Vijayawada: Here’s good news for air travellers in Andhra Pradesh. Air passengers can directly fly from Vijayawada, Visakha and Tirupati to foreign countries.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has, during his China tour on Monday, took part in a meeting with Itihad Airways vice-president Vijay Poonosaami. He accepted a proposal to run direct flights from AP to various countries.
The Chief Minister said the state government would ask permission for running international flights, under the new aviation policy announced recently by the Centre.
The AP government also inked an MoU with China’s Association of small and medium enterprises group limited, AP EDB, and the industry and commerce ministry for establishing an industrial park at Donakonda in Prakasam district.
The group has evinced interest in setting up a park with an investment of Rs 43,120 crore. As per CM’s office here, employment would be provided for 55,000 people by getting a $6.4 billion investment. The project would be completed in three phases in a total area of 10,000 acres.
