Karnataka: Six police officers still use orderlies!
\"As per the information provided under the RTI Act, till May as many as 81 officers were using 133 constables as orderlies.
Bengaluru: A complaint was filed with the Karnataka State Police Complaint Authority against 81 police officers. including around 50 IPS officers, for allegedly using police constables as orderlies at their houses.
Advocate Sudha Katwa submitted a petition to the Authority on Tuesday and demanding that criminal cases should be filed against the officers, who are using orderlies despite a government order abolishing the orderly system in March. "As per the information provided under the RTI Act, till May as many as 81 officers were using 133 constables as orderlies. Even today, six officers including four IPS officers are using constables as orderlies. DGP Neelamani Raju, ADGP Sanjay Sahay, IGP Malini Krishnamurthy, DCP Boralinge Gowda and two other reserve police inspectors are using constables for their household works, violating the order issued by the government," the complainant said.
She urged that constables being used as orderlies should be relieved and used for maintenance of law and order. "Also, the officers, who used their services, should be made to pay the expenses borne by the government in the form of salaries paid to those constables," she added
