Man held for kidnapping guard for ransom in Kovai

Coimbatore: Police have arrested a 37-year-old man and launched a search for his associate in connection with kidnapping a 46-year-old security guard for a ransom of Rs.10,000 in Coimbatore.
Police said, Anandh, 46, a resident of Thudiyaloor Muthu Nagar working as a security guard in a graveyard near Subramaniyapalayam, had gone to meet his relative Loganathan on Wednesday night. There he met two persons, Satheesh, 37, and Prabu, 35, introduced by Loganathan as his friends.
While returning home the duo had followed Anandh, forced him to join them for a drink and took him to an abandoned house near Singanallur belonging to Satheesh.
Taking Anandh under their “custody” the duo had rang up Anandh’s wife and threatened her demanding Rs 10,000 to release her husband.
Following a complaint by Anandh’s wife police tracked the location with the help of the mobile phone tower and rushed to the spot. There, they found Anandh being tied to a rope. Police released him and arrested Satheesh while his associate Prabhu is on the run.Police have launched a search for the missing guy and further investigations are on.
