Chennai: Former AIADMK Minister Nainar Nagendran joining the BJP is just the beginning of the exodus of leaders and cadres from the ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK, claims Union minister of state for road transport, highways and shipping Pon Radhakrishnan.

Many more from the AIADMK will join his party in the coming days, he said. Although Nainar Nagendran had joined the BJP on August 7, he wanted to formally enrol himself into the BJP in the presence of party chief Amit Shah, Radhakrishnan said. Denied his party’s role in the bickering within the AIADMK. “We have got nothing to do with it. If we are interfering in the tussle between the AIADMK groups, they would have united by this time,” he told reporters.

Quoting a proverb in Tamil “annan eppo saavan, thinnai eppo gaali aagum (when will elder brother die, when will his place get vacant), he said, “The DMK is trying to come to power through the back door. But it will not happen.” Meanwhile, party’s Rajya Sabha MP L. Ganesan said: “the AIADMK factions were fighting like children.” “People have elected them for a five year term…. Unfortunately, the state has lost Jayalalithaa. The AIADMK should present a united picture to sustain itself for remaining four years,” he said.
