Anantapur: The video of a police officer’s wife threatening the staff of a cloth showroom in Kadapa has gone viral on social media.

Sources said the woman is the wife of a police officer working in YV Street Battalion at Kadapa headquarters. She had been evading payment for sarees purchased from several showrooms in Kadapa, claiming she is the wife of a police officer.

Showroom owners had earlier obliged but this became a habit. On Saturday, she again arrived at a showroom and selected saris. She reportedly tried to threaten the showroom staff when they presented her the bill.

The showroom owners informed Kadapa One Town police about it. One Town police got in touch with the battalion officer and informed him about the issue. The officer arrived, counselled his wife and settled the issue.

However, netizens have commented that instead of acting responsibly, those in authority tend to misuse their power.
