English and Foreign Languages University fined Rs 5,000 on RTI violation
As the university filled only 37 out of 40 sanctioned seats the girl applied for transfer to EFLU campus but was not given admission.
Hyderabad: English and Foreign Languages University has been fined Rs 5,000 by the Central Information Commission, New Delhi for failing to provide details under the Right to Information Act.
The RTI was filed by G John regarding the admission to the university of his daughter who took third rank in Lucknow where EFLU has a satellite campus and ranked 100 in Hyderabad in the entrance examination held in 2015 and had taken admission in the Lucknow campus.
As the university filled only 37 out of 40 sanctioned seats the girl applied for transfer to EFLU Hyderabad campus but was not given admission.
Mr John said that under sliding rule principle his daughter is eligible to get admission and alleged that a person who is not qualified was admitted.
