BJP leaders and activists, led by BJP Guntur Urban president A. Anjaneyulu, cleaned the ESI hospital premises in Guntur on Wednesday.  Mr Narayana also participated in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, the former minister said that the Swachhta Hi Seva drive is underway since September 15 and that it would continue till October 2.

He said that keeping houses clean and hygienic is important for good health of the family members and similarly, keeping public places clean is most important for the health of the people as it would check the spread of communicable diseases.

Further, he appealed to the public to plant saplings as it would increase the greenery, which would help in bringing down the scorching diurnal temperatures.

Mr Anjaneyulu, mentioning about the benefits and use of trees,  asked the public to plant saplings on various occasions including birthday celebrations.

The BJP leaders and activists removed weeds on the premises of the ESI hospital and even cleaned the hospital and adjacent roads.
