Income Tax raid Pragathi Bhavan, Congress tells sleuths
He alleged that the Centre had used the income-tax department in Karnataka to target Congress leader D. V. Shiva Kumar.
Hyderabad: Congress leaders have criticised caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for the income-tax raids on their party leader A Revanth Reddy. TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy rushed to the house of Mr Revanth Reddy in Jubilee Hills in a show of support even though Mr Revanth Reddy himself was away in Kodangal.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said, "If the IT department wants illegal and black money, they can directly go to Pragathi Bhavan. They can also find huge cash at the old house of Mr KCR."
He alleged that the caretaker Chief Minister and the Prime Minister are using the police and other departments to target the Opposition, The people know the facts and will give a fitting reply during voting, he said.
He alleged that the Centre had used the income-tax department in Karnataka to target Congress leader D. V. Shiva Kumar.
He added, “Mr KCR is now using the central teams to target and harass Congress leaders. The family of the caretaker Chief Minister has looted the state. Everyone knows that KTR (caretaker minister KT Rama Rao) has taken six per cent commission in all the projects."
CLP leader Jana Reddy said, "We don't oppose the legal procedure. But targeting Congress leaders and damaging their image intentionally is a bad idea.”
