Dalai Lama set to visit Arunachal Pradesh

New Delhi: India on Thursday backed a proposed visit by India-based spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, to Arunachal Pradesh which is expected to lead to diplomatic tensions with China.
When asked about the Dalai Lama’s proposed visit to Arunachal Pradesh, ministry of external affairs spokesperson Vikas Swarup said he is a “guest of India” and is free to travel across the country. “He is absolutely free to travel anywhere,” Mr. Swarup said.
