Hyderabad: The state government has directed TS Southern Power Distribution Company (SPDCL) to give permission to L&T to purchase power in the open access system to run the Metro Rail network in the city. Though the state gave the permission to L&T to purchase power in the open access system it did not mention how much power to be purchased by L&T.

Srinivas, SPDCL director (projects & operation), said that L&T has to send a request to SPDCL on how much power was required to operate the Metro Rail network in the city.  He said after receiving the request from L&T, they will give permission.
