Under such condition, the RMC has stated that a low- pressure area is likely to form over West-Central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal around by October 29, 2018.

"In Chennai, the sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy with maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 33 and 25 degree Celsius," said a weatherman.

"While the state maintains a tense wait for northeast monsoon onset, nature churns things at its own pace without any show of emotions.  With two to three false alarms already seen with regard to potential northeast monsoon onset, the key question remains is whether will northeast monsoon check in at the next available opportunity," said a weatherman.

However, it made a climb down from their predictions, as two low-pressures developed over Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal turned into depressions and subsequently made landfalls as cyclone in various coastal areas.
