Shunglu panel trying to falsely implicate Sisodia: Kejriwal
The Delhi Chief Minister claimed that the Centre was planning to get Manish Sisodia arrested before polls in Punjab.
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday accused the Shunglu committee, which examined hundreds of decisions taken by AAP government, of implicating his deputy Manish Sisodia in a "wrong case" and claimed the Centre was planning to get him arrested before polls in Punjab.
Kejriwal's allegations came a day after the panel submitted its report to Lt Governor Najeeb Jung after scrutinising around 400 files based on which the AAP government had taken key decisions since it came to power in February 2015. The LG had set up the committee in August.
"The PMO and LG are making grounds to arrest Manish Sisodia before Punjab elections," Kejriwal told a press conference, alleging Shunglu committee is "deliberately trying to implicate" Sisodia.
In the report, the Shunglu committee has pointed out several instances of violations of laid down rules and procedures by AAP government in taking major decisions. The LG's office is currently examining the report and is expected to take decisions accordingly.
The chief minister alleged that a complaint of cheating relating to V K Shunglu's election as Chairman of DPS Society was pending with the Lt Governor for last 18 months.
"In May last year, a complaint against him was sent to LG's office and the Centre. Instead of taking action, Centre and LG called him and asked him to implicate AAP government and in return, they will save him," Kejriwal alleged.
Efforts to get a reaction from Shunglu did not fructify.
Asked specifically about the "wrong case" as claimed by him to implicate Sisodia, Kejriwal did not give a direct reply.
"You just have to write two lines based on which a case can be filed. 15 AAP MLAs have already been arrested. The court has rapped the Centre for arresting the MLAs. Despite that they are continuing with such tactics," he said.
