Bengaluru: Speeding biker kills senior citizen

Police said Vency had invited friends home on Saturday evening for his birthday.

BENGALURU: Three people have died in separate accidents reported in K.R. Puram and Banasawadi traffic police station limits since Saturday night. In the first, in Banasawadi traffic police station limits, Conrad Vency, 31, a resident of HRBR Layout died after he lost control over his bike and fell.

Police said Vency had invited friends home on Saturday evening for his birthday. After the party, he went to drop a friend, Joy, on a bike. Around 1 am, while they were passing through an underpass on Hennur Outer Ring Road, Vency reportedly lost control over the bike and rammed the wall.

The impact killed Vency on the spot, while his friend escaped with minor injuries. “They were not wearing helments and it is yet to be ascertained if Vency was drunk,” the police added.

Another accident occurred near ASR Convention Hall on Ramamurthynagar Outer Ring Road. Chiranjeevi, 24, an employee of a multi national company, died after he lost control of the skidding bike. The incident occurred around 1 am, when he was heading home after work. He lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve, sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot, K. R. Puram traffic police said.

In the third accident in Medahalli a 60-year-old man was knocked down by a speeding bike while crossing the road. At around 8.45 pm, Balagopal had alighted from a bus at Medahalli, where his daughter lives. He was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed around 1 am. K.R. Puram traffic police have registered a case and arrested the bike rider, identified as Adarsh, 19.
