Chandrababu Naidu gets into election mood, announces new schemes

The government is constructing housing projects for the poor in all districts at a cost of Rs 35,000 crore.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday ruled out holding midterm elections to the state Assembly. To buttress the point, he said the government would complete the rural housing project before the elections.The government is constructing housing projects for the poor in all districts at a cost of Rs 35,000 crore. Mr Naidu also stated that all houses which were ave constructed without permission after 2014 would be regularised. He said the Pelli Kanuka (marriage gift) for poor families will be implemented from January 1. The government will pay 20 per cent of a specified amount before the marriage and 80 per cent on the day of the marriage.
