Hyderabad: IIIT- Hyderabad’s new course on Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning has evoked a good response. Over 250 software professionals joined the first batch. Classes are all set to begin from January 2018. The second batch of admissions began on Monday and due to the good response, more number of seats have been allocated for the course.

Women students have been given special scholarships to ensure more female strength in the course. Officials from IIT-H said that this step is taken to ensure that the new four month course does not suffer from the gender skewed ratio that premier institutions such at IIT, IIIT, NIT and others face. The programme will begin at the machine learning laboratory at IIIT-H in collaboration with ‘TalentSpirit’.

According to Dr P.J. Narayanan, Director of IIIT-Hyderabad, “Digital Transfor-mation is an existential imperative that enterprises have embarked upon in recent years. Awareness of current technology trends and development methodologies are needed to be relevant.”Applications for the programme can be downloaded at the official website, https://cie.iiit.ac.in/aiml/.
