NIZAMABAD: Chicken prices have fallen drastically in Nizamabad district for last few days due to slump in poultry industry. As a result, chicken is being sold at Rs 100-140 per kg in retail market. It is believed that prices will further come down. Interestingly, fall in chicken prices benefited marriage parties, house warming ceremonies among other family get-togethers. Almost all functions and gatherings in Nizamabad, Armoor, Bodhan and Kamareddy towns witness chicken and mutton dishes.
Speaking to this correspondent, Naveen, a teacher said that they provided chicken dishes in their function on Sunday. “Decrease in chicken prices helped us to go for different non-vegetarian dishes,” he said. He informed that they provided country chicken on the occasion and added that chicken dishes are economical than some vegetarian ones. Meanwhile, chicken shop owners set up flexi boards to attract the customers.
