A R Murugadoss bail plea: Madras high court to take it up today

Granting an interim relief, Justice G.K.Ilanthiraiyan had on November 9 directed police not to arrest Murugadoss till November 27.

Chennai: The Madras high court has posted to November 28, further hearing of the anticipatory bail petition filed by A.R.Murugadoss, the director of the Tamil film Sarkar, starring popular film star Vijay, which came under harsh attack from ruling AIADMK party for allegedly depicting certain scenes against the party.

Granting an interim relief, Justice G.K.Ilanthiraiyan had on November 9 directed police not to arrest Murugadoss till November 27. When the petition came up for hearing on Tuesday, Vivek, counsel appearing for Murugadoss,  submitted that the objectionable scenes had now been removed and the director also expressed his regret.

Therefore, the petition may be allowed, he added. Opposing the same, state public prosecutor

A. Natarajan submitted that the petitioner has to give an undertaking before this court that he will not criticize any government policy in any future film to be directed by him and also tender an unconditional apology for his act done in Sarkar movie. After Vivek sought time to get instructions, the judge adjourned to November 28, further hearing.
