Hyderabad: The renovation works of Moazzam Jahi market, also called as MJ Market, which was supposed to finish by August, is still incomplete. It is known that the iron frames are what is causing the delay, as almost all frames are rusted and need to be replaced.

Mr Arvind Kumar, principal secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development said, “Upon taking up the restoration works, we realised that the beams are rusted and need to be replaced. Proper restoration is more important than finishing the work soon.”

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) had taken up the task of renovating MJ Market in April, with a budget of Rs 10 crore, and as a part of the work, they have already repaired the clock. Some of the works have already finished and if the replacement of the iron frames are done, the work will finish fast.
