SCCL elections: AITUC emerges as recognized trade union, TBGKS suffers big loss

ADILABAD: All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) has been merged as a recognized trade union in Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). During the elections, the CPI-affiliated trade union secured the highest number of votes while the TBGKS affiliated to BRS  suffered a big loss, The Congress-affiliated INTUC stood in second place.

The AITUC has been elected with 1999 votes as against its nearest rival INTUC. AITUC got 16177 votes, INTUC secured 14178 votes while TBGKS could get 1298 votes out of the 37451 votes polled.

The AITUC got a majority of 2166 votes in the Sirrampur division while TBGKS could secure only one vote in Yellandu and three votes in Bellampalli.  TBGKS is the big loser in the elections as the trade BRS' trade union was not elected from any of the 11 divisions in SCCL.

AITUC won in Bellampalli, Mandamarri, and Srirampur divisions in Mancherial district and Ramagundam-1 and Ramangudan-2 divisions while INTUC won the Bhupalapalli and Ramagundam-3 divisions and Kothagudem, Manuguru, Yellandu in the Erstwhile Khammam district and also Corporate division (Hyderabad).

Polling was held in 84 polling stations in 11 areas of the Singareni from 7 am to 5 pm on Wednesday.

 AITUC and CPI cadre and leaders celebrated the victory by busting crackers and distributing sweets.
