Chennai: “The king called both of them and gave them equal amounts of gold and asked them to use them effectively saying that the winner would be chosen based on how he/she used the given gold. After three months, both of them returned to the king.

When the king asked the first person how he has spent the gold, he responded saying he had made ornaments for his son and daughter.”

“The king then asked the person whether he had only two children, to which he responded saying ‘I have expelled others’. Then, the second person came to the king along with 100 commoners. He told the king that these people were very poor and that he had distributed the gold among them. He also said they all have started their own businesses by using the gold,” she said.

Then everyone in the hall decided that the second person was the "right one" to succeed the king, she said, adding that like the second person in the short story, she and her government have devoted all their energy and attention only to serve the people of Tamil Nadu.

The story narrated by the CM obviously targets Mr Karunanidhi, his son M.K. Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi, who are in active politics and M.K. Alagiri, who was expelled from DMK two years ago.

In her speech, the CM spoke in detail about the projects that her government has implemented in North Madras in general and R K Nagar in particular. She also inaugurated a renovated fishing harbor at Kasimedu, a middle school in Korukkupet and several other projects in the constituency.

She also said he would never forget the people of R K Nagar for the “warm welcome” they gave to her on Sunday, braving the scorching sun.
