Lucknow: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, on Monday softened his stand on the slogan ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ and said that it should not be imposed on others.
A day earlier in Kolkata, he has said that he wanted the world to chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

“RSS workers should do such deeds that people begin chanting this slogan on their own. India has to show the way to the world how an ideal life should be led and that too by serving the people and the motherland in an exemplary manner,” he said on Monday.

Mr Bhagwat was speaking to the Sangh cadre after inaugurating the Rajju Bhaiyya Smriti Bhawan, earlier known as Bhartiya Kisan Sangh building.

The RSS chief said, “We (India) have to show the way to the people of the world with our life and deeds. We do not want to win or defeat anyone. We do not want to impose our ideology and thoughts on anyone. We wish to show them the path because we accept them as our own. We have to show the path to the world through our deeds”.

He said the Sangh was striving to raise more and more people who were committed to the cause of creating a great India.  The RSS leader cited the examples of former RSS chief, late Rajju Bhaiyya, Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Bhaurao Deoras who inspired the generations.
