Chennai: One among the 3 nominated MLAs of Puducherry has filed a contempt petition in the Madras high court to punish the Assembly Speaker and the secretary for willfully disobeying the orders of the court dated March 22.

The First bench comprising Chief Justice Indira Banerjee and Justice M.Sundar had on March 22 held that nomination of 3 MLAs to the Puducherry Legislative Assembly is valid and set aside the order of the Speaker, refusing to accept and recognize the 3 MLAs as members of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly.
