Hyderabad: Secunderabad Cantonment has partnered  with United Insurance to provide cashless health insurance to nearly 500 employees. Health insurance (up to a maximum of '2 lakhs per year) would be extended to each employee, spouse and two children. However, parents are not included in the scheme.

All major hospitals, including super-specialty hospitals in twin cities are empanelled in this scheme. The yearly premium has been finalised at Rs 12,095, with the Cantonment Board set to contribute 40 per cent of the total for Class 3 employees.

To make it convenient for employees to pay the premium, the board has decided to deduct the amount in 12 installments from their monthly salary. Cashless health insurance is being implemented for the first time in SCB in the country.
