Hyderabad: Excise files 147 cases against permit rooms

Hyderabad: Excise and enforcement wings, during its raids against violations in permit rooms attached to liquor shops, have registered 147 cases across the state. Of these 63 cases were registered against wine shop owners in GHMC limits. Excise officials said, “As per the rules 25 & 26 of wine shop licence rules, the permit rooms must not be of a size less than 20 square metres and not more than 100 square metres. There should be no chairs and tables and no food can be supplied there.”The room should be adjacent to the shop with facilities like wash basin and toilets. If anyone violates the rules, the special teams will take action.”

Meanwhile, Ibrahimpatnam excise teams nabbed a gang during raids on Friday in various tandas in manchal mandal of Rangareddy district, and seized 200kg of jaggery and its co-products, 30 litres of wet jaggery and illicit liquor. The teams arrested four persons and sent them to judicial remand.
