Visakhapatnam: Minister for Education Botsa Satyanarayana urged farmers to enroll in e-Crop, the digital crop booking, by recording all their cropped land details except for those stuck in court cases, for getting financial benefits and compensation for crop loss from the state government.

Speaking at an agriculture advisory board meeting held at the collectorate in Vizianagaram on Saturday, he said the e-Crop enrollment for the farmers who cultivate inam and endowments lands is also mandatory. The farmers need to mention their names and the crop area they are cultivating on the e-Crop portal, which is mandatory to get benefits from the government, he added.

The minister clarified that the RBK jurisdiction should be taken into account for the e-Crop enrollment if the farmland is located on the border between two villages.

He directed the district collector to take necessary steps by forming a task force for the distribution of seeds and fertilizers right before the crop season begins.

Zilla Parishad chairman Majji Srinivasa Rao enquired about the water levels in the reservoirs and the irrigation officials informed him that Thotapalli reservoir has 450 cusecs of water by yesterday evening. Vizianagaram Lok Sabha member Bellana Chandrasekhar and MLCs I Raghuramaraju and Dr Sureshbabu were present.
