Chennai region comes second in CBSE performance

TN registers 99.78 per cent success rate.

Chennai: Chennai region with the pass percentage of 99.69 percent once again came second after Thiruvananthapuram in CBSE class 10 exams results, which were declared on Saturday.

Overall CBSE class 10 students registered 96.21 percent pass percentage and this year the results are down by 1.11 percent compared to last year. Girls have done better than boys with 96.36 percent and boys have registered 96.11 percent pass percentage.

In Tamil Nadu, out of 38,529 students appeared for exams and 38,443 students have cleared the exams and the pass percentage is 99.78 percent. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka states have done slightly better. Of the 14.91 lakh students registered for the exam, 1.68 lakh students secured the perfect 10 CGPA.

Dharshini of SBOA School and Junior College secured 10 CGPA in her SSLC exams. “This year Maths and Science papers were tough. But I got an A1 grade (91-100 marks) in both the subjects.  It is very satisfying. I plan to opt for bio-maths in class 11 and wish to study medicine going forward,” she said.
Aishwarya , another student from the same school who got perfect grade points,  wants to pursue CA after finishing school.

Those students who are not qualified can write compartment exam. Srinivasan said the dates for the compartment exams will be announced on June 10. Students can apply only online and the revaluation application dates will be announced next week.
