Karnataka Bandh: No impact in Mysuru region
Hotels remained closed in Chamarajnagar too.
Mysuru: Barring protests by BJP leaders, normal life in the Old Mysuru region remained largely unaffected by the bandh called by the BJP demanding waiver of farm loans by the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the state. The bandh was peaceful in Mysuru, Chamarajnagar, Mandya and Kodagu, though it made its impact felt in Kodagu, considered a BJP bastion. Cinema theatres did not screen the morning show in Mysuru while the Hotel owners association extended their support to the bandh. Hotels remained closed in Chamarajnagar too.
In Mysuru. police arrested BJP leaders and few workers who tried to stop KSRTC buses. MP Pratap Simha was arrested at Bannimantap bus depot, MLA L Nagendra was arrested at Mysuru Rural bus stand while MLA S.A. Ramdas was arrested at the city bus stand.
