DMK president urges TN govt to solve Acute water crisis on war footing

Chennai: The DMK President M.K. Stalin urged the State Government to solve the acute drinking water shortage faced by the people immediately on a war footing.
In a statement on Tuesday, Stalin stated that the people are affected by unprecedetent drinking water crisis. One pot of drinking water has been sold at a cost of Rs 10 and people face serious difficulties due to the scarcity.
Even after failure of monsoon the authorities had failed to take any action to solve the issue. The authorities had also not taken action to obtain sufficient quantity of water from desalination plant in Minjur and Nemmeli, which are not working upto to their total capacity.
The Chennai Corporation authorities had not taken any action to meet the demand of the women, who faced serious difficulties.
He accused AIADMK government as responsible for acute water crisis in the state and demanded the government to solve the crisis on a war footing immediately. He appealed the party MPS and MLAs to assist the women to get water with the help of water tankers.
