CM Jagan urges Centre to resolve post-split issues
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy returned to AP on Monday after the completion of his three-day visit to New Delhi.
The Chief Minister, during his stay in the national capital, took part in the inauguration of the new Parliament building and held meetings with several Union ministers including Amith Shah and Nirmala Sitharaman.
The CM met the Union home minister on Sunday night at the latter’s residence. He is learnt to have urged Shah for his intervention to amicably and expeditiously resolve the unresolved bifurcation-related issues between AP and Telangana.
The CM took up the issues like division of assets and liabilities between AP and TS as per provisions of Schedule IX and X of AP Reorganisation Act, 2014 and also the pending power arrears from Telangana to AP keeping in mind the financial condition of the AP power utilities.
The CM met Union water resources minister Gajendra Shekawat and urged him for his nod to the revised estimates of the Polavaram irrigation project and release of funds for expeditious execution of the project. The central minister is learnt to have responded positively to the CM’s requests. The CM had also met Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
