Hyderabad: Telangana government will acquire 922 acres as part of the proposed Gattu Lift Irrigation Scheme (GLIS), for which Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will lay the foundation stone at Penchikala village in Jogulamba Gadwal district on Friday.

The land acquisition will be taken up soon for construction of canals, pump house and laying pipelines. The Rs 554 crore GLIS has been designed to irrigate 33,000 acres of agricultural land including project ayacut of 25,000 acres.
